Rest In Peace Dr. Kurt Richebacher

One of the world’s greatest economic theorists passed away yesterday at the age of 88. It is a sad day for classical liberal economic thinkers everywhere.

Dr. Richebacher’s newsletter provided some of the most sound, grounding, clear and thoughtful economic analysis I have come across. His teachings helped me more clearly understand the issues associated with currency markets, interest rates and global economic imbalances. His wisdom will forever be a part of the foundation of my personal economic understanding and I thank him for the theoretic understanding that he brought to the world. His insight was a bright light in an often murky world of economic commentary.

I am truly saddened at his passing as there are few out there who maintain such a deep understanding of the true causes of economic booms and busts and the nature of the global economy in general. His legacy will forever live on, however, as such wisdom outlives the thinker who brought it to the world’s attention.

  1. I never read his newsletter, but I found a lot of snippets around the web and there is no doubt in my mind that he understood what he was talking about.

Thanks for posting this. I probably wouldn’t have found out otherwise.
